This kingdom scroll's illumination was based off of the Bregilles Hours, Flanders, Bruges, c. 1460. I actually started this scroll as a blank and was later given the assignment for a Dragon's Barb. This award was going to an archer and the Bruges scroll actually contained an archer in the illuminated detail. It also contained what looked like a pelican piercing its breast. I kept this in my scroll as well, but changed it to a swan (to avoid any confusion to the Kingdom's Order of the Pelican). Calligraphy is modified gothic textura quadrata. I completed this scroll on January 10, 2005.
