This is a Baronial scroll based off of a 15th century French manuscript. Normally the background (behind the flowers) would have been gold, but laying that much gold scares me (I'm still learning), so I opted for a warm yellow paint. I'm not at all crazy about the results. I think I'll just take the plunge next time and apply the gold (or at least gold paint). Oh, and I am aware that the writing is on an angle (stupid ruler!). ;-)
Calligraphy is modified gothic textura quadrata. This scroll was completed on July 13, 2006.
