This scrolled was based off of a very late period charter (Letters Patent of James I), English. I was pressed for time with this one a couldn't find much information on the recipient, so I had a difficult time deciding on a particular design for the illumination. I settled for this design because it had a bit of everything: knotwork, acanthus leaves, a cool dragon. 24K gold leaf border. Calligraphy is modified gothic textura quadrata. I completed this scroll on October 18, 2006.
