After the disastrous Purple Fret, I decided to crack the books. This design is based on late 13th and early 14th C. English and French illumination. The willow is done in gold paint, not gilded (I know, I cheated). Calligraphy is gothic textura quadrata, although I start playing a bit with the shapes of the letters. This scroll was completed in May, 2002.
